Welcome

Hall Park Academy has a vibrant sixth form with a wide range of subjects to study and fantastic support from its staff. We will guide you through your further education and support you in decisions about the future whether you are looking to university, apprenticeship or employment. We will help you reach your academic potential, give you support and advice to follow courses in Higher Education, and provide you with opportunities to gain in self-confidence by being involved in a whole range of enrichment and extra-curricular activities.

'We have developed strong working relationships with a number of universities. These partnerships include the University of Nottingham, Sheffield Hallam University, Nottingham Trent University and a new partnership with the University of Cambridge.  These links provide support for our students in accessing help with university applications, careers guidance and visits to universities in the form of subject taster sessions and open days.  Many of our students go on to study at Russell group universities and flourish.

Ofsted inspectors rate our sixth form as Good and commented on the views of current students at Hall Park.

'students have positive attitudes towards their studies and attend well. They appreciate the support they receive from knowledgeable staff. Teachers set work that is sufficiently demanding but not overwhelming'

The sixth form team is an integral part of our pastoral work here at Hall Park Academy.  Each pupil has a dedicated tutor who provides daily support for pupils in Y12 and 13 and acts as a first point of contact for pupils.  We have 2 sixth form study areas for pupils to work in as well as new IT provision for the sixth form.  Pupils are encouraged to work independently throughout the week, encouraging organisation and independent study skills.

Sixth formers support the lower years by visiting tutor groups and offering small group mentoring sessions in subjects they study.  This forms part of a broader network of enrichment activities that run throughout Y12 and 13.
