Army Elite Skills Visit

On Monday 26th February, some of our students took part in an Elite Skills morning led by the Army. This involved an in-depth talk with a current soldier who works within the HR department. He shared his experience getting to where he is today and the different job roles they have within the army, including how he has had the opportunity to play basketball all over the world through his job.

The students learned how to get an apprenticeship with the army, what qualifications you need for each role and how to obtain a scholarship, funding or bursary for university to help you achieve a job within the higher ranks of the army.

After the presentation, the students were split into two groups to complete activities that will help with team building and leadership whilst giving an insight into what army training could involve. This experience gave the students a chance to ask questions about what a military role entails and get a better understanding of expectations.
